Lily Mitchell of Shosetsu makes hand bound books using a variety of traditional techniques. She endeavors to make every component of the book from scratch from dyeing leather to marbling end-pages. I also use a number of quirky decorations including semi precious stones, metals and, at one point, clock parts.
If you’re lucky you might even catch her doing demonstrations at the Winter Arts Market about the different aspects of book art and bookbinding, and the process of making a notebook.
