Winter Marvels

Screen Shot 2013-12-02 at 11.10.28It’s this weekend! We’ll be posting a new artist everyday this week in the lead up to the Winter Arts Market so we are glad to start the week of with the  rather excellent Liverpool artist Michael Snowdon.

Michael’s work is a combination of graphic design and illustration, translated into screen printing and other craft based work. He has also produced album artwork for several notable Liverpool bands, including The Coral.

Michael Snowdon 1 From traditional illustration to pop culture doodles, Michael’s work is of a high quality with fine attention to detail and humour! Truly eye-catching and ideal for Christmas gifts.

Variety is the spice of life!

Anna Cade 1

Anna Cade produces a wonderful variety of products, all inspired by a love of craft and contemporary illustration.

Her work shows a keen eye for detail and ranges from handmade screenprints and paintings to children’s clothing and other textiles. We adore her paintings on wood pictured above. Beautiful!

Using illustration and print as a process of exploring colour, pattern and textures, she works with a variety of mediums such as paper, wood and fabric. All this combines to produce a very unique range of work.

These inspired creations are also either limited editions or one off runs. So get down early to this year’s Winter Arts Market to avoid missing out!

Jigger And Jolly and a whole lotta Holly…

Christopher Turell-Watts (aka Jigger and Jolly) is a local artist who makes one off and small run batch ceramic sculptures, musical clouds and intricate lace inspired terracotta tea light holders.

We love these little guys:

Alongside these creations he is launching “Willow Pattern City” – a new series of plates and mugs with Liverpool buildings and landmarks in place of the traditional Willow Pattern you see on china.

You can see what other creations he’s cooking up on his blog at http://www.jiggerandjolly.blogspot.co.uk/ and don’t forget you can see his work in person on both days of the Winter Arts Market this year which is at Liverpool St George’s Hall (opposite Lime Street train station) on Sat 8 and Sun 9th December.
